Do You Need Low PR Links?

One might think that all it takes in SEO is to get a few high PR links but it’s not all that simple. Sometimes a couple of high PR links are enough to get your desired position, but you have to know when those times are and when they are not.

You see, Google’s algorithms work with an ideal model of natural linking patterns. And getting only high PR links is not quite an ideal pattern. While it can occur under normal circumstances, when working on SEO we want to appear as natural as possible.

So to cut the story short, you need low PR links as much as you do high PR links. My suggestion is to work your way from the bottom up. Build low PR links, get as many of them as you can and only get higher PR links when you see that you’re not going up with all those links.

To help you see the picture better use tools that count the PR of links. A natural pattern uses a scale close to a reverse logarithmic scale, that is, each level of PR gets about 10 times less links than the previous.

I know a lot of people swear by profile backlinks but I also know several forum owners who curse them. So personally I consider them as spam and never use them.

I mean if you’re gonna spam, then why stop with profiles. Get something like xrummer or hire someone that has it and spam the internet like there’s no tomorrow.

Furthermore, profile links that are just dropped without any activity in the community have no links from the main site and are hardly even indexed. So in order to work they must get backlinks of their own.

There are much better and a lot less sleazy ways to get backlinks.
